Where is it?
So Flo Water Sports is located in Hollywood Beach, Hollywood Florida. If you do drive, the surfing area for Hollywood Beach is from Georgia Street to Bougainvillea Terr. (please be aware that on busy summer days parking can be in short supply along the waterfront so we recommended you allow yourself some extra time. What should I bring?
We are outside rain or shine. Please be prepared for the weather. Items to bring include: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle, sweater/sweatshirt, rain jacket, and shoes/sandals that can get wet. Bathing attire and wetsuits optional. Wetsuits can be rented for $15, please indicate need when signing up for class.

Can I attend more than one Intro to Paddle Boarding Lesson?
The Intro to Paddle Boarding is designed as a single, 1 ½ -hour session. You are welcome to register for as many sessions as you need to feel comfortable, but each 1 ½ -hour class is the same.

What if it's raining?
This event will run rain or shine. In the event of lightning or other dangerous weather on-water activities may be temporarily suspended. As long as it's safe, we'll be on the water.

Do I need to bring my own lifejacket?
No. We will provide you with a Personal Flotation Device, So Flo Water Sports provides Inflatable Belt Pack PFD's that are lightweight, cool and comfortable giving you complete freedom of movement while paddling. You may use your own PFD if you prefer, as long as it is USA government approved and in good condition.

Do I need to bring my own wetsuit?
Feel free to bring your own wetsuit if you have one, additionally wetsuits can be rented from So Flo Water Sports for $15. If needed please indicate when booking your class or rental.

Do I have to know how to swim?
You should be comfortable in the water. You do not have to be an expert swimmer to paddleboard as the paddleboard floats and Personal Floatation Devices (PFD) are provided for all participants. You must wear a PFD at all times while on the paddleboards.

Will I get wet?
There is a risk of immersion with any water-based activity, although we do not plan to tip our paddle boards. You will get your feet wet entering and exiting the water. Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Miami and South Beach intercostal waterways has a break wall providing the perfect calm conditions no matter the weather to learn to paddle board. So Flo Water Sports also has wetsuits for rent, if needed please indicate when booking your class or rental.

Is the water Polluted?
Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Miami and South Beach are Blue Flag Beaches. In 2005, Florida became one of the first US States to certify its beaches under the international Blue Flag program. This international eco-label is awarded to beaches that meet high standards for water quality, environmental management, environmental education, and safety and services. Blue Flag are awarded seasonally.

Can my kids take the class with me?
Yes! We encourage families to participate together. In order to participate, your child must be registered in the course. *Children under 75lbs may ride on the front of your board for paddle tours or rentals. The boards make secure platforms for children to sit, play and even help paddle.

Can my child take Paddle Boarding Lesson and classes by himself/herself?
Young people under 15 years of age need to have an accompanying adult participant. If your child is 16 years or over, they can take the course by him or herself.

Can I participate if I have a special need?
Please contact our program coordinator to discuss how we can best accommodate your needs. People with mobility and sensory disabilities have participated in our classes.

Do I have to take the Intro to Paddle Boarding before I can do the Paddle-Yoga, Paddle-Fit and Paddle-Tours?
Yes, we encourage participants to take the Intro to Paddle Boarding Class, this gives participants the opportunity to learn the fundamentals to get the most out of the classes and tours, while maintaining classes that are engaging and fun for everyone.

What is the Cancellation Policy?
A minimum of 24 hour notice by phone, email or text message is required to receive full credit toward rescheduling a class. Due to weather and water conditions, we may need to cancel a class or event up to an hour and a half prior to start of class or event in which case you will be credited and can reschedule a class. It's advised that a cell phone number is included in waiver form so we can send a text and/or email info regarding class cancellations.
